HOUSTON -- An airline passenger said he plans to sue after he was burned on a flight, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.
"I was flying out of Houston to Orlando," Ronald Galvan said.
Galvan and his family were on their way to Disney World when he claims a clumsy Continental flight attendant spoiled his week-long vacation.
"I was asleep on my seat, and all of a sudden, I felt a burn on my shoulder," said Galvan.
Galvan said that burn came after the crew member spilled boiling hot water on his shoulder and chest area.
"When it hit me, it turned really red. (She) came back with an ice pack, but by then my skin peeled off," said Galvan He gave KPRC Local 2 snapshots of his second-degree burns taken moments after it happened on March 16.
"I never got a formal apology or anything. They just kind of brushed it off," said Galvan.
But that's not the only thing that has this 41-year-old married father boiling mad.
"This could have easily happened to my baby, and that's my main concern," said Galvan.
Galvan said that minutes prior to the water being spilled on him, his 22-month-old daughter was resting on that same shoulder.
"That could have caused a lot of damage, and my poor little girl. She would definitely be hurt by that," he said.
That's why he's decided to hire a lawyer.
"The main point here is that Continental or someone at Continental is investigating this particular incident and it doesn't happen again," said Jason Gibson, Galvan's attorney.
Galvan said he feels lucky that he was injured and his daughter was spared.
"I dont want it to happen to anyone else," he said.
